Grateful for a gift

This one I struggled with because my mind went so many directions. But I finally decided: It's a sweat band my sister got me after I ran my first 5k after having the tiny human. I ran several 5ks before having the kiddo and then it took over a year for me to get back into it. My sister and I decided to run a 5K together while her husband was deployed and I went to stay with her. We ran it and before we did it, she gifted me a sweatband that said "Strong as a mother." It is one of my favorite items because I am mama strong. I'm stronger now than I was before my kiddo and she encourages me and challenges me to be stronger every day. I made sure it was with me when I did my 23 mile bike ride this summer, when I did my half marathon in October, and I will be wearing it for my 4 miler on Thanksgiving. I am strong. And it reminds me of that every time I see it because I remember what I can do and what I'm capable of.

It's not easy taking photos where you look good when you're a sweaty mess...whether you ran 3 miles or 13.1. But I'm Strong As A Mother no matter what!
